Another success for Stockport Business Awards

andrew Last week Clarke Nicklin welcomed John Young, one of the Bank of England’s chief economists to their offices. He visited the accountants in Stockport to present a seminar on the ‘State of the Economy.’

The seminar, which is a regular fixture at Clarke Nicklin, was attended by around 30 local business people. Attendees gave positive feedback and felt a little more optimistic about the economy after the event!

John is the North West agent for the bank, and as their eyes and ears he provides them with crucial information on trends and developments across the UK economy.

He is an expert economist and well-regarded speaker. He studied economics at the University of Sussex and then, after a brief spell as a university teacher, worked for twenty years in economic research and advisory roles for UK and international banks in London before joining the Bank of England.

Andrew Baggott, MD at Clarke Nicklin said; "John gave us a banking perspective on the state of the economy and the prospects for recovery and growth - he is an excellent speaker and we really appreciate him sharing his views with us." He continues; "We are pleased to hear that the Bank feels the outlook for North West businesses is positive, and guest’s opinions seemed to echo that too. We are beginning to see longer term sustained growth throughout the UK and in our region. Let’s hope this recovery comes to fruition as it will benefit everybody!"
